LONGING FOR RIO, LONGING FOR RIVERS, LONGING FOR MYSELF | 2005 (IN PROGRESS)

As I did when during my childhood – when punishment meant writing countless repetitions of a given phrase in a notebook – I began to write “longing for Rio” repeatedly as part of a process of elaborating my return to Brazil after many years of living abroad. Following this, a great number of images began to flood my memory, and I started to transfer them onto paper, something I continue to do to this day.
