NOTHING STAYS | 2008-10

I started these drawings under the impact of the idea of my own death: for this reason, perhaps, there is a clear relationship to time which, in its unfolding, came close to stopping altogether; or to the fragility of the carbon line transferred, in its extreme sensitivity to the incidence of light.

  • technical drawing instruments, carbon paper, rolls of Oriental paper
  • 65 x 2,000 cm each roll
  • photographs taken on the mezzanine at the Palácio Gustavo Capanema, CEAV/Funarte, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
