PRETENDING TO REPEAT THE IDENTICAL | 2012
I created this series of drawings by rescuing obsolete instruments of architectural design; I employed them to repeat a single geometric symbol with a combination of twelve lettering guide rulers and twelve different nib thicknesses for China ink pens: a tedious process of making 144 combinations in which I used the same pattern without ever repeating circle sizes or line thickness.
