SO I REFUSE TO BECOME A PALE IMAGE OF WHAT I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TO YOU (VIDEO) | 2005

This work is made up of two items from a family archive: a love letter, from which I have borrowed the title-sentence; and a photograph of my father as a young man, possibly taken in the 1940s on Boa Viagem beach in Recife. The colors of his portrait fade very slowly, without ever fully disappearing.
